February 11, 2026 was a difficult day as we said goodbye to our sweet girl “Swift”
Swift had the sweetest and kindest temperament one would ever want.
She was always at my side, bumping for a pet and offering love in return.
Swift spent 10 years as an Ottawa Therapy dog. I cannot count the number of people she blessed with her tender nature. She just knew who needed her. Her gift of compassion gave me opportunities to meet so many people, share our stories and leave as friends.
Swift loved to fetch balls and frisbees but giving them up was not her best quality.
She would run for hours and leap in the air to catch them. Outlasting all the young dogs.
Our routine at home was to end each day with “love you Swift, see you in the morning.”
They say our pets cross the rainbow bridge only to wait on the other side to greet us.
I have no doubt Swift will be first in line. Until then “love you Swift, see you on the other side of the rainbow.”
