A love for dogs

We, at Whinturn Goldens, have had dogs as a part of our family for many years. It would be difficult to imagine our home without a dog.

During the early years while raising our family, we volunteered for a local charity, raising puppies in our home until they were mature enough to go out into the world. The experience gave us a lot of knowledge and opened our hearts to continuing to raise good quality dogs in the future.

Along the way we were blessed to have many wonderful dogs who just enhanced our desire for more.

It is our hope that our love of these beautiful animals can be shared with other like minded families.

Whinturn Goldens facilities and visits

Home based breeding

We are a small home based breeder, which means our puppies are born and raised “in our home.” We have an area dedicated to the housing, whelping and raising of our dogs. This area holds all things dogs, including a bathtub to allow for proper bathing of the dogs. Some of our adult dogs are therapy dogs, so they need proper bathing and grooming weekly.

Puppy stage and socializing

When the puppies are old enough to be introduced to the outside world, we forfeit our kitchen so they can get easy access to the doors and fenced yard.

We believe in socializing the puppies as they grow, so families who are receiving a puppy from each litter are encouraged to come and visit as often as they can. These visits allow us to learn what the family expectations are so that we can match puppies. It also allows the families to experience the rapid growth the puppies go through in those first precious 8 weeks. So much fun not to share.
